Tirana police arrest two men for 100,000 euro social media scam

Two young men, Edison Korra, 24, and Orest Balla, 23, have been arrested in Tirana following an attempted social media scam targeting a 64-year-old man. The suspects were caught in flagrante delicto while attempting to collect 100,000 euros.

According to police reports, the duo used a fake social media profile created with the credentials of an acquaintance of the victim to gain trust. They reportedly posed as associates of Armand Duka, the head of the Albanian Football Association (FSHF), to facilitate the fraud.

The operation, codenamed ‘Seen’, was carried out by specialists from the Economic-Financial Crimes Investigation Section in cooperation with the Special Operational Force. Authorities are continuing investigations to identify any other individuals potentially involved in the scheme.
