Albanian police seize cocaine, weapon and luxury car in Tirana raids
The Albanian State Police, together with the Special Operational Force and the “Shqiponja” unit, carried out intensive road‑side checks in Tirana and the surrounding towns of Fushë‑Krujë, Bubq and Nikël. The operation inspected 87 vehicles and 118 citizens, removed 34 illegally tinted windows and imposed administrative penalties on the drivers.
Two people were arrested in flagrante delicto. One was found with a quantity of suspected cocaine, and the other was seized with a cold weapon – a metallic baton. In addition, a luxury vehicle used by a suspect was confiscated, and 12 vehicles and 16 persons were taken for further verification.
Police said the checks are part of a zero‑tolerance campaign aimed at curbing illegal weapons, drug trafficking and traffic violations, and will continue on a regular basis.
