Tirana–Durrës Highway: Night-time closures announced for September 1–3
The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) has announced temporary traffic closures on the Tirana–Durrës and Durrës–Tirana highway axes. The closures are scheduled for September 1, 2, and 3, 2026, between the hours of 23:00 and 05:00.
The restrictions are necessary to facilitate the installation of metal beams in the central space of the new Kashar overpass, a component of the Tirana–Durrës Superhighway Expansion Project (Phase III).
Traffic will be diverted via several routes. For the Tirana–Durrës direction, vehicles will use a temporary ramp toward Rinas and proceed via secondary roads. Heavy vehicles and trucks will be diverted from the 'Casa Italia' junction. For the Durrës–Tirana direction, traffic will be redirected through the Kashar–Thumane overpass using secondary roads on the left side. Drivers traveling toward Rinas, Shkodra, or Kosovo will be redirected at the Kashar–Thumane overpass.
