Tirano celebrates 522nd Feast of the Apparition

In Tirano, approximately 2,000 pilgrims, clergy, and local authorities gathered on Tuesday, September 29, to celebrate the 522nd Feast of the Apparition of the Madonna to Blessed Mario Omodei. The event commemorates the 1504 apparition that led to the construction of the Basilica.

Monsignor Daniele Salera, Bishop of Ivrea, presided over the Mass, filling in for Cardinal Oscar Cantoni, who is currently recovering from health issues. During his homily, Salera reflected on the significance of the apparition and called for authentic conversion amidst modern global challenges such as war and social injustice.
