Tirano police prevent illegal street racing event

Italian authorities in Tirano prevented a planned illegal street racing event dubbed ‘Fast and Furious’ during the night of August 15. The competition, which had been advertised on social media, was scheduled to take place in an industrial area.

Police forces, including the State Police, Highway Police, and Carabinieri, identified 25 individuals at the gathering point, many of whom were very young. Participants had traveled from locations including Lecco, Monza Brianza, and Switzerland. A 24-year-old resident of the Sondrio province was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for organizing unauthorized motor vehicle competitions.
