Tiraspol protest organizers accused of exploiting social grievances for political pressure

A planned demonstration in Tiraspol, organized by the so-called ‘Transnistrian Popular Forum’ led by Vadim Krasnoselski, is being characterized by critics as an attempt to transform social and economic dissatisfaction into political pressure against the authorities in Chișinău.

Organizers claim the protest is a response to fiscal measures and economic pressure from Moldova. However, investigations suggest the mobilization may be part of a coordinated effort involving regional administrative structures and information networks. Reports indicate that the GRU established an ‘Information-Psychological Operations Center’ in the Transnistrian region in February, which reportedly aims to influence the information environment in Moldova and neighboring European Union states.

Officials have stated that the manifestation is an attempt to exploit real citizen concerns to promote narratives regarding alleged economic pressure exerted by the Moldovan government.
