Tirol allocates 1.75 million euros for cultural monument preservation

The Board of the State Memory Foundation (Landesgedächtnisstiftung) has approved approximately 1.75 million euros to preserve cultural monuments in Tyrol, Austria. The funding is designated for the renovation of historic buildings and various museum-related measures.

Key projects include the renovation of the former Franciscan monastery in Reutte, the restoration of the protected Kirchenwirt veranda in Weerberg, and the restoration of the St. Anna cemetery chapel in Sillian. Other supported sites include the St. Michael parish church tower in Schönwies and the old elementary school in Baumkirchen, which will serve as a municipal office.

In addition to architectural preservation, the foundation is allocating 365,000 euros toward student housing. This includes acquiring rights for 35 student residential units currently under construction in Innsbruck to provide housing for local students. The foundation, which was established in 1959 and extended through 2034, is funded equally by the State of Tyrol and its municipalities.
