Tirol paragliding accident injures father and daughter

A 32-year-old man and his four-year-old daughter were injured following a paragliding accident in Schwendau, Tyrol. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Penken paragliding takeoff site.

Preliminary investigations by the Tyrol State Police Directorate suggest that the paraglider's lines became entangled during the takeoff process, causing the pair to fall. Both individuals were rescued by helicopter and transported to a hospital in Innsbruck for medical treatment. The exact altitude from which the fall occurred has not been specified, and authorities are continuing to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
