Tiroler Festspiele Erl records 85% attendance in summer season

The Tiroler Festspiele Erl closed its summer season with an average occupancy of 85%, six percentage points higher than the previous year, drawing roughly 13,500 visitors. Music‑theater productions were especially popular, achieving a 92% fill rate. About half of the audience came from Austria, with German attendees forming the second‑largest group.

Highlights included Hector Berlioz’s cantata “Cléopâtre,” Bizet’s opera “Carmen,” and Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” under the direction of Deborah Warner, as well as Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer,” which sold out all three performances. Chief conductor Asher Fisch led several concerts and other orchestral events. Intendant Jonas Kaufmann said, "Insbesondere die zweite Sommersaison zeigte, dass die ausgewogene Mischung in unserem Angebot vom Publikum sehr gut angenommen wird." The festival will continue with the autumn "Ausklang" program from 1‑3 October and the winter season beginning 6 December.
