Tirrenia revives traditional Feast of Saint Francis
The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi returned to Tirrenia on October 3 and 4, reviving a tradition that had been absent since the 1970s. Organized by the Associazione I Cavalieri in collaboration with the San Francesco Parish Pastoral Council and the “Salotto culturale Massimiliano Giannini,” the event featured religious services, workshops, and a gospel concert.
The celebrations included a procession, mass, and various community activities such as crochet, drawing, and graphic arts workshops designed to engage multiple generations. Institutional representatives and local sports groups also participated in the festivities held at Parco Ciro Plebe.
In addition to the cultural and religious observances, the event served a charitable purpose. A fundraising initiative was conducted to support families in need within the Litorale Pisano community, emphasizing values of fraternity and community support.
