Tisha Campbell discusses autism advocacy and new memoir
Actress Tisha Campbell is discussing her new memoir, ‘The A Word: A Mother’s Journey Through Autism and Love’, which details her experiences as a caregiver following her son Xen’s autism diagnosis.
Campbell recently revealed that she herself has been diagnosed with both ADHD and autism, a combination often referred to as ‘AuDHD’. She noted that this diagnosis occurred after the book was written and explained that she had spent much of her life masking her neurodivergence, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, to fit in.
During a recent book signing in New York City, actress Tichina Arnold made a surprise appearance to support Campbell. The two, known for their work on ‘Martin’, celebrated the release and discussed their lifelong friendship.
