Tisha Campbell reveals AuDHD diagnosis

Actress Tisha Campbell has revealed she has been diagnosed with AuDHD, a co-occurring condition of autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The diagnosis, which classifies her as “level one” on the spectrum, was confirmed after she underwent extensive clinical testing involving two separate specialists and 12 different assessments, including oral and written exams.

Campbell noted that the diagnosis came after the completion of her recent memoir. She described a lifetime of “masking” her symptoms to conform to social norms, particularly while growing up in Newark. She explained that she had previously concealed behaviors such as stimming—repetitive movements or sounds used for self-regulation—and noted that her lifelong passions for acting and music serve as “special interests.”

The actress shared that the diagnosis has provided her with a deeper understanding of herself and has strengthened her connection with her son, who is also on the autism spectrum.
