Tisza Lake to host XVII. World Boat Casting Championship

The XVII. World Boat Casting Championship is scheduled to take place near Tiszafüred from October 15 to 17. Due to the international event, significant fishing restrictions will be in place for three days.

To ensure a safe and uninterrupted competition, fishing from boats and shore-based casting will be prohibited daily between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM in designated areas. The affected zones include the Abádszalók basin and the section of the Tisza river between kilometers 403.2 and 440.0.

Organizers have adjusted the competition plans due to unusually low water levels in the lake, which have not reached the typical winter minimums since mid-August. Consequently, the competition will focus on deeper basins and the specified river section rather than the entire water area. The event features 42 pairs from 19 nations, with the Hungarian team entering as a top contender, currently ranked second in the world standings.
