Tisza Party faces internal conflict and transparency concerns

Internal tensions and allegations of leadership issues have surfaced within the Tisza Party in Hungary. Reports indicate a significant rift between party leader Péter Magyar and a group of prominent members, including former vice president Márk Radnai. The conflict reportedly peaked in late 2025 during the selection of parliamentary candidates, centered around a highly centralized and aggressive campaign strategy developed by campaign manager Péter Tóth.

Critics within the party, including figures such as Márk Radnai, accused the leadership of undemocratic decision-making and an authoritarian management style. This friction was highlighted by Radnai’s recent absence from the National Assembly.

Additionally, controversies have emerged regarding transparency and potential corruption. Investigations have pointed to suspicious email correspondences involving Radnai during the organization of state celebrations on August 20. Furthermore, Amnesty International Hungary has raised concerns regarding data management and operational transparency related to the ‘Közhang’ project. The involvement of Miklós Zelcsényi, who has transitioned from campaign event organizing to roles involving state contracts, has also been noted in recent reports.
