Tisza Party faces internal friction over personnel decisions

Internal tensions have emerged within the Tisza Party regarding recent personnel decisions. Andrea Virág, Strategic Director of the Republikon Institute, noted that criticisms have largely focused on personal appointments rather than policy content.

Key points of contention include the selection of the presidential candidate, which caused friction due to a lack of prior consultation with the broader party community. While the election of András Baka settled the matter, the appointment of Anna Unger as the head of the National Asset Protection and Recovery Office caused significant debate. Many observers had expected Miklós Ligeti for the role, and the party has faced criticism for failing to clearly communicate the reasoning behind supporting Unger.

Péter Magyar has stated that both candidates were suitable, but the lack of detailed justification has created a political vulnerability for the party, particularly among voters who prioritize transparency and consultation.
