Tisza Party faces wave of parliamentary leadership changes

The Tisza Party is experiencing a wave of leadership changes within its parliamentary representatives. Balázs Varga has resigned as chair of the Digital and Technological Committee after only five months, citing organizational reasons and the need to focus on local settlement development. He will continue his work as vice-chair, with Péter Járosi taking over the chairmanship.

In a separate move, József Sárosi has stepped down from his position as chair of the committee investigating the loss of public assets and has left the committee entirely. While the Tisza Party stated his departure was due to his workload in his constituency, the move follows allegations made by independent MP Ákos Hadházy. Hadházy linked Sárosi to a controversial land transaction near Paks, involving the overvaluation of a 5.5-hectare plot. Police investigations into the matter are reportedly ongoing.

These shifts follow other recent departures within the party, including the resignation of András Tót from his role as state secretary for energy, which also occurred after only a few months in office.
