Tisza Party proposes parliamentary committee to investigate welfare fund misuse

The Tisza Party parliamentary faction has proposed the establishment of a new investigative committee titled the Committee to Investigate the Misuse of Welfare Resources. The initiative aims to uncover systemic abuses regarding the use of domestic and European funds intended for disadvantaged individuals and those living in extreme poverty.

If approved by the National Assembly, the six-member committee would investigate support systems from the past two decades and address serious irregularities identified by oversight bodies. The Tisza Party has nominated István Gyöngyösi from the governing party as chair, with Viktória Dicső and Tamás Cseh proposed as members. Other seats may be filled by representatives from Fidesz, KDNP, and Mi Hazánk.

This proposal follows the formation of several other investigative committees in the Hungarian Parliament, including those focused on child protection, the pardon scandal, spontaneous privatization, the Hungarian National Bank, and executive abuses.
