Tisza River tourism upgrades in Hungary and Serbia

The Mariska restaurant on the shores of Hungary's Tisza Lake reopened this year under owners Judit and Csaba. The venue now combines a restaurant with a garden cinema, a farmers' market and regular concerts, aiming to turn a visit into a full‑day experience for locals and tourists.

In nearby Serbia, the municipality of Magyarkanizsa has spent a decade improving the Tisza‑river beach. Annual investments have added sand, sports fields, a swimming pool, a camping area and upgraded water and electricity supplies. Mayor Robert Fejsztámer highlighted the steady rise in visitors from Hungary, Romania and other regions, and announced plans to further develop the water‑infrastructure.
