Tite Kubo increases involvement in Bleach anime production
Tite Kubo, the creator of the Bleach series, has revealed his increased involvement in the production of the anime's final arc, 'Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War'. To ensure his vision is accurately conveyed, Kubo transitioned from providing written descriptions to creating preliminary storyboards.
Kubo noted that written instructions often resulted in excessive text that was difficult for the animation team to visualize. By drawing storyboards, he found a more effective way to communicate his intentions. He admitted to initial hesitation, fearing that his direct involvement might interfere with the creative autonomy of the professional storyboard artists. However, after the animation team responded positively to his initial sketches, he began contributing more regularly.
The anime adaptation aims to provide a more comprehensive conclusion than the original 2016 manga ending, which faced criticism for being rushed. Kubo's active role in character design and storyboarding allows for the development of narrative elements that may have been limited during the original manga's publication due to his health challenges.
