Titleist begins global testing of new Pro V1 and Pro V1x in Japan
Titleist has launched the global validation phase for its next generation of golf balls, the 15th generation Pro V1 and the 13th generation Pro V1x. The testing phase officially begins at the Baycurrent Classic, held from October 8 to 11, 2026, at the Yokohama Country Club in Japan.
This event allows the manufacturer to test the prototypes among professionals from both the PGA Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. While technical specifications regarding the core, shell, and dimple patterns remain undisclosed until the market launch, the company has been conducting preliminary testing since March 2026 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Prominent professional golfers, including Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, and Adam Scott, have participated in the testing process. The new generation of balls is expected to be available to the general public in retail stores around January or February 2027.
