Titãs members praise Anitta’s cover of “Bichos Escrotos”

Members of the Brazilian rock band Titãs have expressed approval of a new version of their 1986 classic “Bichos Escrotos,” recorded by singer Anitta and Tropkillaz for the Prime Video film “Corrida dos Bichos.”

Paulo Miklos, who provided vocals for the original recording, praised Anitta’s interpretation for maintaining the song’s inherent irony and questioning social standards. He noted that the cover is helping a new generation rediscover the track, a process he compared to the potency of musical displacement.

Co-author Sérgio Britto also commended the rendition, noting that while the style is radically different from the original, there are stylistic connections between the song’s direct language and the genre of funk. Britto highlighted the song’s anarchic nature and praised Anitta’s charisma and vocal ability. The track has gained significant traction on social media, frequently appearing in viral memes.
