Titus Day settles legal dispute with Guy Sebastian

Singer Guy Sebastian and his former manager, Titus Day, have reached a confidential settlement, ending a legal dispute that has lasted nearly a decade. The resolution follows a Federal Court civil suit launched by Sebastian in 2018.

In a statement, Day admitted to accounting errors during his management of Sebastian through his company, 6 Degrees, between 2009 and 2017. Day acknowledged that “there were many instances in which payments that should have been passed on to Guy, were not,” attributing the failure to pass on funds to his own mistakes. He expressed regret for his past decisions and apologized for the impact his actions had on Sebastian and his family.

The legal history between the two includes criminal proceedings. Day was initially convicted of 34 counts of embezzlement in 2022, but those convictions were quashed on appeal due to inappropriate prosecutorial comments. A subsequent trial resulted in an acquittal on four counts and a hung jury on the remaining charges, after which prosecutors declined to pursue the case further.
