Titwala Ganpati procession dispute leads to police case against 70-80 people

A dispute during a Ganpati idol immersion procession in Titwala, Thane, escalated into physical violence between two groups. The conflict reportedly began as a verbal disagreement over which group’s idol should proceed first in the procession, which later turned into shoving and physical assault.

Following the incident, the Kalyan Taluka Police registered a case against approximately 70 to 80 individuals from both sides. Named individuals in the police case include former BJP Deputy Mayor and current Corporator Upeksha Bhoir and her husband Shaktivan Bhoir, as well as members of the Thackeray faction (UBT Sena), including former Corporator Suresh Bhoir and office-bearer Pradeep Bhoir. The clashes occurred in several areas, including Regency Sarvam, Shrikrishna Hospital Road, MNS Chowk, and Station Road.
