Tivat Cultural Center and Marin Držić Theatre co-produce ‘Peer Gynt’
The Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival hosted a performance of ‘Peer Gynt’, a production marking the first theatrical co-production between the Tivat Cultural Center and the Marin Držić Theatre from Dubrovnik.
Directed by Paolo Tišljarić, the production of Henrik Ibsen’s classic utilizes a contemporary stage expression that integrates music, video projections, folklore elements, and dynamic lighting. The performance explores themes of identity, responsibility, and the human search for self through a blend of realistic and fantastical elements.
Goran Božović, Director of the Tivat Cultural Center, noted the historical significance of this collaboration, describing it as a milestone in cultural exchange between Montenegro and Dubrovnik. Tišljarić described the play as a timeless text that allows for an exploration of the internal struggles and the human journey.
