Tivat World Music Festival opens 10th anniversary edition

The tenth anniversary edition of the Tivat World Music Festival (TWMF) has officially opened at Magnolia Square in Tivat. Organized by the NGO Fluid Drum, the festival aims to connect diverse cultures and traditions through contemporary world music sounds.

The opening program featured performances by students from the Tivat Music School, including the Mali trubaduri ensemble. Following the local students, Portuguese producer and multi-instrumentalist Ruben Monteiro performed alongside Carla Costa. Their set, based on the album ‘Umbra – Sjenka’, incorporated musical influences from Morocco, Palestine, and Bulgaria. The performance also included an improvisation session with musicians from the Indian ensemble Mystics.

The festival, which includes musicians from Montenegro, Serbia, Portugal, India, Cuba, and Brazil, will continue through September 13, with the closing event scheduled to take place in Gornja Lastva.
