Tivoli and Guidonia Montecelio reach land transfer agreements

The municipalities of Tivoli and Guidonia Montecelio have approved agreements to acquire and valorize land formerly owned by the ‘Pio Istituto Santo Spirito e Ospedali Riuniti di Roma’. The former moral entity held over 400 hectares of real estate between Tivoli Terme and the Centro Agroalimentare Romano in Setteville.

Under the agreements approved by the Lazio Region and Asl Roma 5, the land will be transferred to the Region and the municipalities for subsequent sale. A primary goal is to allow residents who have occupied the land for decades to purchase the properties they have built upon. The plan also includes development projects promoted by public and private entities. Areas designated for healthcare activities, specifically the site for the New Tiburtino Hospital, are excluded from this transfer.

Separately, Guidonia Montecelio has concluded a long-standing urban planning process regarding a sector in Villanova. The approved variant changes the land use from services to residential to facilitate the construction of subsidized public housing. As part of the agreement, a private owner will cede 60% of the area and volume to the municipality, while retaining 40%. The acquired assets will be managed in accordance with the municipality's financial recovery plan.
