Italy reports multiple criminal incidents including Rome assault and A2 motorway drunk driving
Various criminal incidents have been reported across Italy. In Rome, a 29-year-old man was arrested near Termini Station after he dismantled a surveillance camera from the Turbigo underpass and used it to smash a parked car's window. The individual, described as being in an altered state, also physically assaulted local police officers, requiring medical attention for the agents involved.
In Calabria, a 25-year-old truck driver was reported for driving a heavy vehicle in a dangerous zigzag pattern on the A2 motorway between Mileto and Rosarno. After striking a central guardrail, the driver continued his erratic driving despite police sirens and lights, eventually stopping near Rosarno. Breathalyzer tests revealed a blood alcohol content of nearly 2 grams per liter.
Other reported crimes include a 23-year-old arrested in Caserta for the violent theft of a gold necklace from a 72-year-old woman, and a 54-year-old man in Rome charged with fleeing the scene after hitting an 11-year-old child in front of a school. Additionally, a 31-year-old was arrested in Tivoli for robbing a student of a mobile phone, and a 55-year-old man in Sarnano was intercepted by Carabinieri after attempting to steal a vehicle and fleeing on a bus.
