TJBA public servants report widespread function deviation

Public servants at the Court of Justice of the State of Bahia (TJBA) have reported continuous instances of function deviation, where employees perform duties significantly different from those for which they were hired through public examinations.

The union SINTAJ reports that staff are being pressured to assume complex or higher-paid responsibilities without official designation or financial compensation. To address this, the union advises affected workers to file individual administrative processes and request written designation orders from responsible magistrates to ensure legal security and prevent undue liability.

Additionally, a preliminary injunction has suspended the effects of Circular Letter No. 026/2026 from the TJBA Special Courts Coordination (COJE), which had previously restricted substitute designations for the position of expediente supervisor.
