TJDFT President presents procurement governance innovations to TCU

Jair Soares, president of the Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal e dos Territórios (TJDFT), met with Vital do Rêgo, president of the Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU), to discuss innovations in public procurement governance.

During the meeting, Soares highlighted advancements in the TJDFT regarding acquisitions and management, noting that the implementation of the New Bidding Law (Law No. 14.133/2021) has strengthened planning, efficiency, and security in public purchases. Soares presented the TCU president with the ‘Cartilha de Integridade nas Contratações Públicas’ (Integrity Handbook in Public Procurement) and the ‘Guia de Competências para as Funções Essenciais das Contratações’ (Competency Guide for Essential Procurement Functions), both launched by the TJDFT to promote ethics and professional qualification.

Minister Vital do Rêgo noted that the management practices of both institutions are aligned, particularly regarding integrity and the valuation of personnel, expressing interest in further institutional dialogue.
