TJMA launches conciliation drive for banking disputes in São Luís

The Court of Justice of Maranhão (TJMA) has launched a conciliation drive in São Luís to facilitate agreements between consumers and financial institutions. Held at the Desembargador Sarney Costa Forum, the initiative runs through Friday and aims to resolve banking disputes, such as loans and debts, through dialogue rather than prolonged litigation.

Promoted by the Permanent Nucleus of Consensual Conflict Resolution Methods (Nupemec), the event is a result of coordination between the National Forum of Mediation and Conciliation (Fonamec) and the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). Consumers with pending issues can seek assistance even without a previously scheduled hearing.
