TJMG staff shortage prompts request for new public contest

The Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG) is facing a shortage of staff following the expiration of its previous civil service exam on September 4, 2024. The 2022 contest concluded without an extension, and the final appointments were made in early September.

In response, the Union of Justice Servants of the State of Minas Gerais (SERJUSMIG) submitted an official request to the court's president, Desembargador Vicente de Oliveira Silva, on September 29. The union is calling for a new public contest to replenish the workforce, citing heavy workloads, frequent retirements, and staff leaves that are impacting both worker health and judicial services.

The requested positions include judicial analysts and judicial officers, specifically requesting specialties such as social workers and psychologists. The union has also proposed a regionalization criterion for the new edict to better address staffing needs across different regions of the state.
