TJMS imposes exceptional regime in Bela Vista over case backlog
The Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJMS) has instituted a regime of exception in the Bela Vista judicial district. This measure affects the 1st Civil and Criminal Court and its associated Special Court.
The decision, signed by President Dorival Renato Pavan and Corregedor-Geral Ruy Celso Barbosa Florence, was prompted by a significant accumulation of cases. Technical reports identified a progressive loss of management capacity, noting a high volume of processes pending for more than 120 days without movement, as well as pending hearings.
Critical indicators show deterioration in meeting National Council of Justice (CNJ) goals. The backlog is particularly severe in criminal actions, Jury Court matters, domestic violence cases, and femicide proceedings.
