TJMT introduces credit card payments for court costs
The Court of Justice of Mato Grosso (TJMT) will allow the payment of court costs via credit card starting October 26. This new option includes the possibility of paying in up to 12 installments.
The measure is integrated into the court's existing revenue collection system, which currently accepts Pix and bank slips. Unlike the traditional method, which requires a formal request and judicial authorization from a magistrate to allow installments, the credit card option allows citizens to select the payment method autonomously through the TJMT website.
While single payments via credit card will not incur interest, installments will be subject to interest charges starting from the second installment, according to the terms set by the card operator. Officials stated the initiative aims to modernize revenue collection, reduce bureaucracy, and increase the speed of judicial proceedings.
