TÜKODER calls for price transparency in hair salons

Gamze İspirli, the Erzurum Branch President of the Consumer Protection Association (TÜKODER), has called for increased transparency regarding pricing in hair salons and beauty centers. She highlighted significant price fluctuations for services such as hair coloring, balayage, and hair care, noting that costs for similar procedures can range from 8,000 to as much as 23,000 Turkish Lira.

İspirli emphasized that the core issue is not merely the high costs, but the consumer's right to know the exact price before receiving services. She warned against businesses presenting unexpected bills after a service is completed by citing reasons such as hair length or extra product usage without prior notification and consent.

Additionally, İspirli addressed complaints regarding the lack of documentation for high-value transactions. She urged consumers to demand receipts or invoices for all payments to prevent unregistered economic activity and to protect their legal rights.
