Tlajomulco de Zúñiga advances infrastructure and governance initiatives

The municipal government of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, is advancing infrastructure and governance initiatives. Mayor Gerardo Quirino Velázquez Chávez recently participated in the Second National Congress of Public Innovation NovaGob México 2026, where he emphasized the municipality’s focus on citizen participation and innovative governance models, such as participatory and equitable budgeting.

In terms of physical infrastructure, the administration has launched road renovation projects in Santa Cruz del Valle and San Miguel Cuyutlán, involving an investment of over 30 million pesos. These works aim to improve mobility and safety through the rehabilitation of streets like Hidalgo and Iturbide.

Additionally, the “Bacheando Ando” program has applied more than 1,000 tons of asphalt across 43 priority points over the last three months. This ongoing maintenance effort targets major thoroughfares and residential areas to ensure safer transit for residents and commuters connecting to the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.
