Tlajomulco de Zúñiga emergency personnel trained for venomous animal incidents

Emergency personnel in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, have undergone specialized training to manage incidents involving medically significant venomous animals. The training targeted doctors and paramedics from Municipal Medical Services, Civil Protection, Firefighters, and the Forest Brigade.

The program focused on establishing standardized protocols for responding to bites and stings from species including violin spiders, black widows, rattlesnakes, coral snakes, and cantils. The goal is to ensure rapid and effective prehospital care to save lives.

Luis Alberto Cayo Cervantes, director of the Municipal Animal Collection and Health Unit, stated that this is the first phase of a training initiative intended to expand to more operational areas. Officials emphasized the importance of following scientific protocols and avoiding home remedies in favor of immediate medical attention.
