Tlalnepantla approves land donation for new childcare center
The Tlalnepantla municipal government, led by Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz, has unanimously approved the donation of a 2,000-square-meter plot of land to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). The site, located on Avenida Cultura Tolteca in the El Rosario I housing unit, will be used to construct a new Center for Early Childhood Education and Care (CECI).
The project, which is part of the Integral Plan for the Eastern State of Mexico promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, is designed to serve between 200 and 250 children. The facility will provide free early childhood education with certified staff, 24-hour video surveillance, and dedicated parking. The initiative aims to provide economic relief to local families by offering an alternative to private daycare.
In addition to the childcare center, the local government announced plans to renovate the El Rosario I Los Lagos recreational park with new lighting and a covered sports court. Following a community consultation that supported the project, a small group of residents staged a blockade on Avenida Ixtacala. Local authorities resolved the situation through a dialogue table, successfully restoring traffic flow in both directions.
