Tlalpan hosts Caminata al Mictlán cultural walk

More than 900 people participated in the Caminata al Mictlán on Friday, October 23, in the Tlalpan district of Mexico City. Organized by the Mexico City Sports Institute (INDEPORTE), the event featured a 2.3-kilometer nocturnal walk that combined physical activity with Day of the Dead traditions.

Participants, including families and groups of friends, wore costumes and enjoyed music while traversing the elevated bridge of the Jardín Flotante Tlallipan over Calzada de Tlalpan. The event began with activities at 19:00, followed by the walk at 21:30, starting from the Roa Bárcenas pedestrian bridge.

Javier Peralta Pérez, Director General of INDEPORTE, emphasized the importance of creating activities that link culture, sports, and family coexistence through the use of public spaces.
