Tlaxcala celebrates 501 years of history with cultural initiatives
The city of Tlaxcala is celebrating its 501st anniversary with a series of cultural and historical commemorations. Key activities include a dialogue hosted at the Regional Museum of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) to reflect on the city's territory and heritage.
To enhance accessibility and historical preservation, the city has launched a project to install QR codes and Braille signage on 169 historical buildings in the Historic Center. This initiative includes major sites such as the Government Palace and the Franciscan convent.
Other commemorative events include the opening of the “Códices de Tlaxcala” exhibition at the Desiderio Hernández Xochitiotzin Municipal Gallery, which showcases documents detailing the city's ancestral roots. Additionally, the city has inaugurated the Bullfighting Gallery at the Jorge “El Ranchero Aguilar” bullring, transforming a previously deteriorated space into a cultural and tourist attraction.
