Tlaxcala Governor launches washing machine program for vulnerable families

Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros has launched the ‘Lavadoras para tu Vivienda 2026’ program, a new welfare strategy managed by the Secretaría de Bienestar to support vulnerable families in Tlaxcala. The initiative recently distributed 125 washing machines to women in the municipalities of Tlaxcala, Chiautempan, and Tepeyanco.

The state government plans to distribute a total of 1,300 units this year with a state investment of 10.4 million pesos. Beyond washing machines, the administration’s social policy includes providing domestic equipment such as water tanks, solar heaters, and stoves to improve household living conditions.

Cuéllar Cisneros noted that despite Tlaxcala having one of the smallest public budgets in the country, the administration has prioritized social programs, stating the entity holds the first national place for the number of social programs implemented.
