Tlaxcala inaugurates CRIAT autism and disability rehabilitation center
The Governor of Tlaxcala, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, has inaugurated the Centro de Rehabilitación, Inclusión y Autismo de Tlaxcala (CRIAT), a facility dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of children and adolescents with disabilities and autism.
CRIAT is noted as the first and only center of its kind in Mexico to be entirely built, equipped, and operated using state government resources. The project utilized a collaborative model where the Tlaxcala government provided the public investment while Fundación Teletón México contributed thirty years of specialized expertise and knowledge in rehabilitation and inclusion.
Fernando Landeros Verdugo, president of Fundación Teletón México, described the facility as “the best rehabilitation center in the country,” praising its infrastructure, technology, and organization. Governor Cuéllar Cisneros highlighted that the center will receive additional support from the federal Secretariat of Welfare under President Claudia Sheinbaum to ensure comprehensive care for its patients.
