Tlaxcala inaugurates Palenque Carlos Rivera

Tlaxcala Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros has inaugurated the Palenque Carlos Rivera, a major entertainment venue with a capacity for 5,800 spectators. The facility is part of a comprehensive renovation of the Tlaxcala Fairgrounds (Recinto Ferial), which had not undergone significant updates in sixty years.

The project involved an investment exceeding 500 million pesos and was completed over an eight-month period. The modernization includes renovated walkways, plazas, fountains, common areas, and restaurants, as well as the creation of a City of Artisans and Merchants and a gastronomic walkway featuring 24 local businesses.

The venue is named in honor of singer-songwriter Carlos Rivera, a native of Huamantla. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Governor Cuéllar described Rivera as the state’s “best ambassador,” while Rivera expressed gratitude for the recognition of his career.
