Tlaxcala invests 3.8 million pesos in epidemiological surveillance

Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros has delivered five 4x4 vehicles to the Tlaxcala health sector as part of a 3.8 million peso investment. The initiative aims to strengthen epidemiological surveillance, manage sanitary emergencies, and expand services to remote communities.

The vehicles will be distributed among the health jurisdictions of Tlaxcala, Huamantla, and Apizaco, as well as the Epidemiology area of the Secretary of Health (SESA) and the State Public Beneficence Patrimony Administration (APBPET). Health Secretary Rigoberto Zamudio Meneses noted that the 4x4 capability is essential for reaching locations with difficult terrain.

This acquisition also addresses a long-standing need for the Public Beneficence department, which had not received a vehicle in over 12 years. The new units will assist in transporting support to vulnerable populations in isolated areas. The governor also highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize the state health system, including projects for hemodialysis units, minimally invasive surgery, and the expansion of the Tlaxcala Children's Hospital.
