Tlaxcala official Iván García Juárez faces scrutiny over undisclosed assets

Iván García Juárez, the Environmental Protection Attorney for Tlaxcala, is facing scrutiny regarding his undisclosed assets despite displaying a lifestyle involving luxury brand clothing, watches, and European travel.

During his tenure in the federal public administration between 2018 and 2021, García Juárez declared only a 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA, purchased for 400,000 pesos, as his sole asset. He has not authorized the public release of his current wealth. He currently earns a monthly salary of 95,000 pesos.

Reports also highlight his relationship with Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the Federal Secretary of Tourism, noting he gifted her a diamond ring valued at 900,000 pesos. García Juárez previously held positions in the Ministry of the Interior and worked with the Banco del Bienestar project.
