Mayor Salvador Santos Cedillo announced the Toro Bravo Freestyle rap battle, a competition aimed at 18‑ to 29‑year‑old youths from Tlaxcala. The event will be held on 15 August at the Foro Cultural del Parque Juárez, with a direct‑elimination format and cash prizes of 7,000, 5,000 and 3,000 pesos for the top three performers.
Applicants must submit an ID photo and a one‑minute video of an improvised verse by 13 August. The initiative is part of the Feria Internacional del Arte Efímero y de la Dalia 2026, intended to give young artists a public stage and promote cultural expression in the state.
The municipal government hopes the competition will energize local culture and provide a platform for emerging talent in the region.
