Tülay Hatimoğulları meets with Alevi representatives in Istanbul

Tülay Hatimoğulları, Co-Chair of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), met with representatives of Alevi associations and organizations at the Kazım Karabekir Cemevi in the Ümraniye district of Istanbul.

During the meeting, Hatimoğulları discussed current peace process debates, the implementation of trustees, and allegations of economic corruption. She emphasized that true peace and democracy in Turkey cannot be achieved without addressing the Alevi issue, which she described as one of the country's two major "bleeding wounds" alongside the Kurdish issue.

Hatimoğulları stated that peace should not be viewed as a process where one side wins and another loses, but rather as the construction of a shared life where all 86 million citizens live with justice, peace, and freedom. She also noted that Alevi representatives must be included in the democratic processes and peace discussions.
