TML discusses the future of public transport in Lisbon

At the CNN Portugal Summit i9 Cascais, representatives from TML - Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa discussed the future of public transportation and its impact on urban quality of life. Luísa Ferreira, a board member at TML, highlighted key developments in the Lisbon metropolitan area, including the 2019 launch of the navegante® system, which aimed to simplify tariffs and increase demand.

Ferreira also noted the creation of Carris Metropolitana as a step toward integrated road operations. She emphasized that TML acts as a strategic link between the government and municipalities to ensure metropolitan cohesion. The discussion underscored that improving public transport usage requires simultaneous investment in both service supply and passenger demand, specifically through service reliability and real-time information.
