TMR sensor technology expands in gaming controllers for Switch and PS5
New gaming hardware utilizing Tunnel Magneto-Resistance (TMR) technology is entering the market to address analog stick drift and improve precision.
CYBER has released a series of 6B TMR controllers for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Available in both wired and wireless configurations, these controllers feature high-precision TMR sensors in the analog sticks, which use magnetic detection to reduce wear and prevent drift compared to traditional contact-based sensors. The controllers also include adjustable stick tension and button lock functions.
Additionally, ONO Trading Co., Ltd. is offering Frinkey TMR stick modules for the PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge controller. These third-party replacement modules allow users to upgrade to TMR technology via a plug-and-play design that requires no soldering, specifically targeting the prevention of stick drift in high-end gaming peripherals.
