TNA partnership with WWE deemed failure as layoffs and viewership slump continue

TNA Wrestling’s recent partnership with WWE has not delivered the expected benefits. After the alliance began, TNA announced a "workforce reduction," terminating several wrestlers and backstage staff, including longtime figures such as Sami Callihan, Tommy Dreamer, Steve Maclin, Myla Grace and Tessa Blanchard. The cuts have heightened internal doubts about the new TV deal with AMC, which launched in January 2026, and raised questions about the promotion’s financial health.

Viewership has not shown significant growth since the collaboration, and critics argue that WWE has taken TNA’s top talent without reciprocating with comparable talent for TNA. Recent TNA events, including Slammiversary, Bound For Glory and Rebellion, have been described as average or failures, reinforcing the view that the partnership has damaged rather than helped the promotion.
