TNA Wrestling announces championship matches following iMPACT

During the August 27, 2026, episode of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT in Brampton, Ontario, several major storylines progressed regarding championship opportunities and injuries.

TNA Champion Nic Nemeth and partner Ryan Nemeth faced verbal challenges from Leon Slater, who aims to become the youngest TNA Champion in company history. Following a confrontation, Director of Authority Santino Marella officially sanctioned a title match between Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater.

In the tag team division, Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch defeated John Skyler and Special Agent Zero. Following the match, TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali appeared via video from a hospital bed, revealing he is recovering from a punctured lung and fractured ribs sustained at the Lockdown pay-per-view. Ali offered Hotch a chance to rejoin Order 4, but Hotch rejected the proposal, stating he intends to pursue the championship.

To resolve the contention, Santino Marella announced that on the September 3rd episode of iMPACT, Jason Hotch will face Trey Miguel in a number one contenders match. The winner of that bout will earn a shot at Mustafa Ali’s International Championship once he is cleared to return.
